Recently, under the support and guidance of relevant ministries and commissions of China, the International Cooperation Center (ICC) and China Group Companies Association (CGCA) decided to establish a strategic cooperation mechanism. The two sides made clear in their official letters that they aimed to establish a close, coordinated and cooperative relationship so as to better serve the overall layout of China.
As a forward-looking, strategic and compound international cooperation research institution jointly initiated by a number of national strategic institutions in China, ICC accepts the business guidance of relevant government departments and the supervision and administration by the civil affairs department. ICC is an important window for China to scientifically study and judge the changes of the international situation and world pattern in the new era, accurately grasp the new historical orientation of China's development, and carry out foreign exchanges and international cooperation. Being committed to establishing and improving new-type international relations, showing China in a true, three-dimensional and comprehensive manner, and promoting the human civilization and world peace, it provides theoretical and intellectual support for China to deepen reform and opening up, create a good external environment, and maintain the strategic opportunity period for development.
Established in 1987 when the State Council decided to promote enterprise merger and incorporate group companies, CGCA is a social organization with the highest concentration of large companies in China under the guidance of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council and the Ministry of Commerce (MOC). CGCA now has more than 200 super-large enterprise members, most of which are the world's and China's top 500 enterprises. Since its establishment 35 years ago, CGCA has paid close attention to the trend of world economy and become an important platform for dialogue and cooperation between Chinese and foreign multinational companies, a high-end think tank to participate in major national economic decision making, and an important window for the international community to understand China's reform and opening-up policies and practices.
