On September 21, on behalf of the International Cooperation Center (ICC), Mr. Wu Zhonglin, Executive Director of the ICC Development Committee and Deputy Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party Beijing Municipal Committee, paid a visit to the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in China. There, he exchanged views on issues including promoting China-South Korea cultural exchanges and people-to-people bonds with Mr. Kim Jin-gon, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China and Head of KCC.

Mr. Kim Jin-gon suggested that this year marks the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The coming Mid-Autumn Festival, which is as significant in South Korea as the Spring Festival, is a time when Koreans around the world return to their hometowns for family reunions. As an essential traditional festival, it vividly reflects the enduring cultural ties between the two nations, which are deeply rooted in historical and geographical linkages. Civilizations flourish through exchanges, and cultures are enriched through mutual appreciation. Both sides share the conviction that as long as the two nations uphold mutual respect, accommodate each other’s major concerns and core interests, and adhere to win-win cooperation, we are poised to nurture broader and deeper relations through reciprocal understanding and wholehearted exchanges based on millennia of history and culture of the two countries.

Both sides agreed that the close geographical proximity and historical camaraderie have inscribed illustrious chapters of cultural exchanges and bequeathed a treasury of tales highlighting mutual learning and reciprocal inspiration over the course of centuries. In the same vein, with close geographical proximity, people-to-people relations and cultural ties, diverse and multi-level cultural and people-to-people exchanges in recent years have again drawn the two nations nearer to each other, deepening mutual understanding and consolidating a popular support for the healthy evolution of bilateral relations. The ICC pays close attention to the emerging developments in Northeast Asia and stands ready to fortify high-level interactions as well as cooperation across assorted domains between China and South Korea with the joint efforts from the Embassy of ROK, so as to steer their strategic partnership toward progressive developments.

Mr. Wang Xi, member of the Committee on Social Development and Services of the China Zhi Gong Party and Secretary-General of the Committee on Social Development and Services of the China Zhi Gong Party Beijing Municipal Committee, attended the meeting and exchanged their views.
