On June 15, Nepalese Prime Minister Prachanda met with Mu Dong, Asia-Pacific Affairs Advisor of the International Cooperation Center in Kathmandu. The two sides exchanged views on continuing the traditional friendship between China and Nepal, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, and other issues of common concern. Both sides discussed the implementation of the important results of President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Nepal in 2019, the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries during Prime Minister Prachanda's visit to China in 2023, cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, investment, and accelerate the construction of a trans-Himalayan three-dimensional interconnection network , to enhance the well-being of the people of the two countries.

The "Belt and Road" initiative has played an important role in promoting infrastructure construction and interconnection between Asia and Europe. It has a significant impact on the geopolitical and economic pattern of South Asia, and promoted the development of cultural exchanges, academic cooperation, tourism and other fields between China and South Asian countries. . China and Nepal are good neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, good friends who help each other, and good partners seeking common development. In recent years, China and Nepal have jointly built the "Belt and Road" with high quality, which has enhanced mutual understanding and cooperation between the two parties. During the talks, the two sides emphasized the importance of cultural and educational cooperation, suggested continuing to intensify people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries, deepen China-Nepal cooperation in culture, tourism and education to build a closer China-Nepal system with a shared future. Both sides agreed to establish Himalayan cultural exchange centers in Beijing, China and Kathmandu, Nepal in due course.

Nepali Finance Minister Barsaman Pun attended the meeting. After Mu Dong arrived in Kathmandu this month, Nepal’s Minister of Energy Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) Ms. Shakti Bahadur Basnet had met Mu Dong and his delegation between June 12 and 13. The two sides reached important results on continuing to expand and deepen bilateral economic, trade exchanges between China and Nepal, as well as promoting cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as energy and financial investment to a new level.
