In Bangkok, Mu Dong met with UN Resident Coordinator in China Siddharth Chatterjee and thanked him for his strong support to the ICC in carrying out multilateral exchanges and cooperation. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on cooperation between the ICC and the United Nations system in China and reached many important consensus. Mu Dong also met with Deepali Khanna, Vice President of the Rockefeller Foundation's Asia Office, and Kitty Bu, Vice President of the Asia Region of the Global Alliance for People and Earth Energy, to exchange views on global climate change and promoting the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Over years, the ICC Joint Council has maintained close contacts and friendly exchanges with the Thai royal family, senior Thai government officials and people who support the cause of China-Thailand friendship. During his visit to Bangkok, Thailand, Mu Dong paid a special visit to  a Thai friendly person, Ms. Sirrine Phathanothai (Chinese name: Chang Yuan), who had made important contributions to the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. The two sides deeply reviewed the history of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries by the older generation of Chinese and Thai leaders. It is hoped that China and Thailand will continue their traditional friendship, actively promote mutual understanding between the two peoples and push for a new progress in building the China-Thailand community with a shared future.
