The 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum opened at the Beijing International Convention Center on Sept 13. The congratulatory letter by President Xi Jinping to Beijing Xiangshan Forum pointed out that in the face of profound changes unseen in a century and people's expectations for security and stability in the world, China has implemented the Global Security Initiative, been constantly building consensus of all parties, promoting the elimination of the root causes of international conflicts, improving global security governance, and making unremitting efforts to build a world of lasting peace and universal security. It is hoped that this Forum will make new and greater contributions to jointly addressing global security challenges and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Since its inception in 2006, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum has gained increasing international influence. It has developed into a well-known high-end security and defense dialogue platform at home and abroad, an international public security product provided by China and shared by the world, and an important cooperation platform for promoting Global Security Initiatives. Experts and scholars from China and all over the world gathered at the 11th Xiangshan Forum in Beijing from September 12 to 14, focusing on the theme of "Building Peace Together, Sharing the Future", to pool wisdom and suggestions for the international community to address the common concerns of security challenges. More than 1,800 guests, including official representatives from more than 100 countries and international organizations, experts, scholars and observers from various countries, attended the meeting.
At the invitation of the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS), representatives of the ICC Joint Council attended the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum Scholars Reception, met and exchanged views with Chinese and foreign participants. Cheng Yu, the Executive Secretary General of the ICC; Zheng Guangyu, the deputy director of the Foreign Exchange Committee and Jiang Xiaopeng, member of the Foreign Exchange Committee of the ICC attended on behalf of the ICC Joint Council.
