Nepalese Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Poudel met with Mu Dong, the Asia-Pacific Affairs Advisor of the ICC

From November 10 to 11, Mu Dong, the Asia-Pacific Affairs Advisor of the International Cooperation Center Joint Council (ICC) was invited to lead a delegation to Nepal. In the morning of the 11th, Bishnu Poudel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Nepal, met with Mu Dong and his delegation in Kathmandu. The two sides believe that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of two countries, China and Nepal are deepening exchanges and cooperation in various fields, consolidating the popular support for bilateral friendship and promoting bilateral relations to a higher level. The International Cooperation Center is willing to work with the new government of Nepal to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of two countries, deepen cooperation in bilateral investment, economic and trade, as well as people-to-people exchanges, accelerate the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, build the trans-Himalayan multidimensional connectivity network, and provide strong support for Nepal's economic and social development.

On the night of the delegation's visit, the Nepali side arranged a dinner for Mu Dong and his delegation to showcase Nepali cultural cuisine. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, the two sides exchanged views on issues of common concern and reached important consensus. During his visit to Nepal, Mu Dong met with Udaya Rana, Consul General of Nepal in Hong Kong and Sushil Gyewali, the CEO of Nepal Investment Board respectively. Both sides agreed that China and Nepal are linked by mountains and rivers and share a common future. Leaders of the new Nepalese government will visit China in the near future to declare 2025 as the "Year of Tourism in Nepal". The ICC Joint Council is willing to jointly plan a series of activities with the Nepalese side to promote people-to-people exchanges. Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal. The two sides will take this opportunity to push for more fruitful cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative to benefit people of both nations.
