Both sides hold that over the 50 years since the establishment of China-EU diplomatic ties, bilateral exchanges and cooperation have yielded fruitful outcomes, benefiting both sides and the world at large. Valuable experience drawn therefrom includes mutual respect, seeking common ground while reserving differences, open cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win results. China and the EU are constructive forces committed to multilateralism and open cooperation. The more severe and complex the international situation grows, the more imperative it is for the two sides to step up communication, enhance mutual trust and deepen cooperation. Against accelerated evolution of profound global changes, the world has entered a new turbulent and transformative period. Faced with intertwined volatility and shifts, visionary people from China and the EU should demonstrate foresight and responsibility and keep China-EU relations on the right track. The ICC stands ready to work with European think tanks including the Global Neighbours and other friendly European organizations to keep abreast of global trends. The two sides will engage in close dialogue and consultation at regional and international levels to build broad consensus, stabilize expectations and boost confidence. Efforts will be made to inject certainty into China-EU economic ties, jointly tackle global challenges, advance settlement of regional hot-spot issues and safeguard world peace and development.
