The President of the Institute of Politics and International Affairs(IPIA), Timor-Leste,visited the ICC

On July 13, at the invitation of the International Cooperation Center Joint Council (ICC), Fidelis Leite Magalhaes, Former Minister of Council of Ministers at the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and the President of the Institute of Politics and International Affairs (IPIA) at Timor-Leste visited the Jianguomen office of the ICC. Zhang Yu, Deputy Director of the ICC Steering Committee met with Fidelis and his delegations. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on deepening China and Timor-Leste relations, mutual trust & benefit, promoting bilateral exchanges in various fields, and reaching a series of important consensus on international issues of common interest.

The two sides also discussed hot topics refer to continuing to promote the “Belt and Road” Initiative, strengthening unity and cooperation among countries in the Global South, development opportunities and regional prospects after Timor-Leste's accession to ASEAN. Mu Dong, Asia-pacific Affairs Advisor of the ICC; Zhu Hongshan, Senior Researcher of the ICC, Former Vice General Manager of the Strategic Development Department of China Communications Construction Group; Cheng Yu, Executive Secretary General of the ICC; Xin Shaosong, Deputy Director of the ICC Office; Zhang Runzhou, Deputy Director of the Center for Global Competence Development, Tsinghua University; Huang Leike, Student of the China Center, University of Oxford attended the meeting.

Fidelis Leite Magalhaes holds a master's degree in economic history from the London School of Economics and a Master's degree in Public administration from Harvard University. He is currently President of the Institute of Politics and International Affairs(IPIA) and a visiting Professor at Columbia University.
