The International Cooperation Center and Tsinghua University Held a Special Conference on International Finance

On April 9, International Cooperation Center Joint Council (ICC), Center for Global Competence Development at Tsinghua University, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University jointly held a forward-looking seminar on "Global Economic and Financial Situation Seminar - The Reform of the International Monetary System with Special focus on the Special Drawing Rights (SDR)" in the Jianhua Building of Tsinghua University.

Prior to the Seminar, Guo Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University, met with Anoop Singh and other international advisors and expert groups of the International Cooperation Center in the "Gong Zi Ting" of Tsinghua University. Liao Ying, director for the Center for Global Competence Development of Tsinghua University, He Ping, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, and Cheng Yu, Executive Secretary General of the International Cooperation Center Joint Council have attended the meeting and campus visit.

Keynote speech by Anoop Singh

The seminar was moderated by Liao Ying, irector for the Center for Global Competence Development of Tsinghua University, Zhang Zhixiang, member of the Strategic Advisory Committee of International Cooperation Center, Chairman of the International Monetary Research Committee and former Executive Director of China at International Monetary Fund (IMF), delivered a keynote speech and presided over a roundtable discussion. Michel Camdessus, former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, delivered a video message to the seminar. the International Adviser of ICC, internationally well-known economist and former director of the Asia-Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund  Anoop Singh, and Jacky So, Senior Advisor and Chair professor of the President of Macao University of Science and Technology, to deliver keynote speeches respectively. Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, Professor He Ping and Associate Professor Liu Qing,  Associate Professor Zhang Ji of PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University and other guests participated in the "Roundtable discussion".

Roundtable discussion

International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said in an interview that the IMF should be reformed to better reflect the changes in the global economy over the past decade, including the rise of China. Georgieva believes that in the medium term, China will continue to be an important force for global economic growth. It is understood that the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank will be held in Washington from 15 to 20 this month, when the International Monetary Fund will release the latest World Economic Outlook Report. The relevant outcomes of this seminar organized by the International Cooperation Center and Tsinghua University will provide important topics and reference suggestions for the above seminar and this year's G20 Summit.
